    Our Impact So Far

At ELEMIS we are making progress on our sustainability journey, striving for more positive impact everyday.

These are some of our latest initiatives…

    • We switched to plastic-free Dynamic Resurfacing pads in 2021, saving 1.3 tonnes* of plastic waste each year.

    • We estimate that 1.7 tonnes* of plastic has been saved by the removal of spatulas .

    • 100% of our promotional packaging is now fully recyclable!

    • We included 12 tonnes of recycled materials (PCR) in our tubes in 2022.

    • We introduced a New Employee Volunteer Programme, where ELEMIS employees are paid one day a year for volunteering.

    • In 2021 we removed leaflets from our products to save 13 tonnes* of  unnecessary paper use.

    • Paper and cardboard packaging is sourced from certified sustainable forests each year and we use a mix of recycled content too!

    • We ditched the bubble wrap in 2021, saving 11* tonnes of plastic by moving to protective paper wrap for our online orders.

    • Moving to more recyclable glass jars across our ranges!

      Climate

IMPROVE THE CIRCULAR ECO-DESIGN OF OUR PACKAGING.

      • All paper/cardboard to be responsibly sourced in packaging from 2022 onwards.

      • Procure 100% renewable electricity for our operational sites by 2025.

      • 100% of packaging to be recyclable or reusable, where possible, by the end of 2030.

By measuring and assessing our carbon footprint, we have pledged to halve our carbon emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.

ELEMIS' key suppliers must complete and pass an ecovadis CSR assessment, to be an ELEMIS preferred supplier.

        Biodiversity

IMPROVE THE ECO-DESIGN OF OUR FORMULATIONS.

        • Ensure full traceability of country of origin of final raw materials by 2023.

By 2030 we aim: to trace 90% of plant-based raw materials to their country of origin.

        • New rinse-off products to be over 95% biodegradable, where possible, from 2023.

By 2030 we aim for: 90% of all rinse-off formulas to have >95% biodegradable ingredients.

Promote sustainable sourcing of raw materials through close relationships with farmers and growers, and use of biotech, upcycled and fairtrade ingredients.

Deploy vital local programmes such as peatland restoration and carbon sequestration.
